Mangosteen is a tropical fruit from Indonesia. It’s about the size of a small apple and contains a sweet white core that breaks off in wedges similar to an orange. A frequent fruit often used is the Mangosteen. This fruit is not marketed for sale in the United States. Regardless, fruit enthusiasts are able to get the fruit as a juice or capsule form. This is because of the inherent risk of the Mediterranean fruit fly infestation upon its importing.
Scientists found it has anti-fatigue, anti-swelling, mood enhancing, and free radical eliminating uses. Mangosteen research is evolving and there is recommendation that this tropical wonder is full of many ingredients that improve wellness to say the least.

“We examined the effects of six xanthones from the pericarps of mangosteen, Garcinia mangostana, on the cell growth inhibition of human leukemia cell line HL60. All xanthones displayed growth inhibitory effects. Among them, alpha-mangosteen showed complete inhibition at 10 microM through the induction of apoptosis.”(Matsumoto K, Akao Y, Kobayashi E, Ohguchi K, Ito T, Tanaka T, Iinuma M, Nozawa Y: Gifu International Institute of Biotechnology, 1-1 Naka-Fudogaoka, Kakamigahara, August 2003)

Great talent Der Mann.
Try the Banana Tree in Easton, PA: http://banana-tree.com/
They do a mail order business, and I've been happy with most all seeds I gotten from them – including some "hard-to grow" species that I've had no success with from other suppliers.
One thing about the company, they're primarily set up to supply people growing plants commercially, so they don't give in-depth instructions for starting the seeds or caring for the plants. They assume you already know this info. So do an online search for instructions for anything you're interested in growing first.
Actually if you want to get different types of fruit there is something easy you can do without needing to go to someone's town. Just write a letter to any animal in your town. On the first line of the letter say: Hello there friend. Then attach one of the seashells you find on your beach. When you get a letter back it will either have fruit or clothes. So send a few letters and you should get different types of fruit. I got all the fruits i didn't have this way.
Best of luck!
T-Bone.
It has marbling (fat) that gives it flavor.
It grills easily and is tender.
Just give it a rub with olive oil, and then sprinkle it lightly with garlic salt before grilling.
Let folks put their own garnish on it.
That really depends, but I have found an interesting variety of fruits in the asian markets, check anyone of them out in La Puente, West Covina or Rowland Heights.
